Athlete spotlight: eric cho, next game fellow
Meet Eric Cho — a University of Chicago football player, future medical school applicant, and Next Game Fellow building community through running and biomedical innovation.
Get to know Next Game Fellow Eric Cho! Eric is a rising sophomore safety on the University of Chicago football team, majoring in biology and business economics with plans to pursue medical school after sports.
Building Community Through Running
Throughout his two semesters as a Fellow, Eric has built a community of athletes through run clubs in Hyde Park and across the greater Chicago area, bringing college athletes together outside of their own locker rooms and engaging with the neighborhoods around campus.
Investing in Life After Sports
Eric is also putting his Fellowship to work in pursuit of his goals beyond football. Using part of his Fellowship stipend, he purchased materials to build his own heart rate and respiratory monitor, hands-on experience at the intersection of his biology coursework and his medical school ambitions.
